Quick Online Care, phone or video? Pick by what the provider needs to know

The right visit type is not about price, it is about how much back-and-forth your situation needs and whether anything has to be seen. Choose well and one visit is enough. This page makes the choice obvious.

Quick Online Care $19.99 · Phone $39 · Virtual Video $49 · Extended $69

The short answer

QuickCare from $19.99 handles simple, well-described problems in writing. A $39 phone visit suits anything that needs a conversation but nothing to look at. A $49 video visit is right when the provider needs to see a rash, an eye, a wound or a child. If it needs to be touched, measured or imaged, you need an in-person visit.

Who it is for
Anyone who knows they need care and wants the cheapest appropriate visit type rather than the most expensive one.
When it may not fit

What it costs
QuickCare from $19.99, phone $39, video $49, extended video $69. In person $99 for members, $149 without a membership.
What to do next
Pick the visit type that fits, then call to be scheduled.

Choose by what the provider needs

Written description is enough → Quick Online Care

Routine refill evaluations, simple documentation after a short illness, straightforward follow-ups, lab result review and routine lab-order evaluations.

Needs a conversation → phone

Symptoms that are hard to summarize, a medication that is not working well, questions with several branches, or when video is a barrier.

Needs to be seen → Virtual Video Visit

Rashes and skin changes, an eye, swelling, a wound, breathing effort, or a child whose behavior you want observed.

Needs time → Extended Visit

Multiple conditions, ten medications, an older adult catch-up with a caregiver present, or post-hospital follow-up.

How Quick Online Care actually works

Quick Online Care is an online, non-appointment pathway: you submit structured information about a specific eligible concern and a licensed provider reviews it. There is no scheduled live appointment, which is what makes it the least expensive option at $19.99.

Refill requests and work or school note evaluations are examples, not guarantees. Eligibility and provider assessment determine what can be handled asynchronously.

Quick Online Care's limitation is inherent: some concerns cannot be responsibly resolved without a conversation or a look. If your provider determines that, you will be told what level of care is needed instead of being left with a non-answer.

Applying an amount already paid toward an upgraded visit is a policy we are still confirming operationally, so we do not present it as a live guarantee on this page.

Worked examples

  1. "I need my blood pressure medication refilled"

Quick Online Care, $19.99 — as long as nothing has changed and you have recent readings. If it is not controlled, choose a phone visit.

  2. "My child has a rash on her back"

Video, $49 — pattern and distribution matter. For children under 13, Whole Family Virtual Care is the pathway.

  3. "I was out sick for two days and need a note"

Quick Online Care, $19.99 for a short current illness. Multi-day absences and clearance questions need a phone or video visit.

  4. "My labs came back and I do not understand them"

Quick Online Care, $19.99 for a straightforward review. Choose phone or video if several values are off or you have many questions.

  5. "Burning with urination since last night"

Phone or video — symptoms overlap with conditions that need testing or examination, so a live encounter is appropriate.

  6. "Mom takes nine medications and just left the hospital"

Extended Visit, $69, ideally with a caregiver present and every bottle on the table.

None of these are right when

Virtual care fits

  • Everyday illness, follow-up, documentation after evaluation and medication questions
  • Reviewing labs, readings and instructions
  • Deciding whether something needs to be seen today

Go elsewhere immediately

  • Chest pain, pressure, trouble breathing or fainting — call 911
  • Sudden weakness, facial droop or trouble speaking — call 911
  • Heavy bleeding, a serious injury, or a possible fracture
  • A fever in an infant under three months
  • Thoughts of harming yourself — call or text 988

Questions people ask

How does $19.99 Quick Online Care work?

You submit structured information about an eligible straightforward concern online and a licensed provider reviews it. There is no scheduled live appointment, which is why it is the lowest-cost option.

What is the difference between Quick Online Care and a Virtual Video Visit?

Quick Online Care is an asynchronous online review with no live appointment. A Virtual Video Visit is a live encounter where your provider can see and speak with you, which is necessary for anything visual or complex.

What if my concern needs a higher level of care?

Your provider will tell you what is needed — a live visit, in-person evaluation or emergency care. Applying an amount already paid toward an upgraded visit is a policy we are still confirming, so we do not present it as a guarantee.

Is video always better?

No. For a straightforward refill or a lab review, video adds cost and scheduling without adding clinical value. For anything visual, it is clearly worth it.

Which is best for an older adult?

Often the extended video visit at $69, because medication lists and multiple conditions need time. A phone visit at $39 is a good option when video is a barrier.

This page explains how our service works. It is general information, not a diagnosis, and it is not a substitute for an evaluation of your own situation. Whether testing, treatment or a prescription is appropriate is decided during a visit.

If this is an emergency — chest pain, trouble breathing, stroke symptoms, severe bleeding, or thoughts of harming yourself — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. See our emergency care notice.
