Healthcare benefits for staffing agencies

Give placed workers real healthcare access from week one — 24/7 virtual visits for them and their household — without waiting for group-plan eligibility hours that most of your roster will never hit.

Voluntary or agency-paid · Roster-based onboarding · Cancel or change headcount monthly

The short answer

Who this is for
Staffing, recruiting and PEO-adjacent firms placing hourly, per-diem, travel or contract workers whose hours vary week to week.
What your workers get
Unlimited 24/7/365 virtual visits by phone or video, member pricing on labs, imaging and medications, and household coverage on the family plans.
Why it beats waiting on eligibility
It starts immediately, follows the worker across placements, and does not depend on averaging 30 hours a week.
What it costs
A flat per-member monthly rate you can fund fully, split, or offer voluntarily through payroll deduction. Pricing is quoted on your roster size.
Next step
Send headcount and structure preference and we will return a per-member price.

The eligibility gap you cannot staff around

Most of the people your agency places will never qualify for a traditional group plan. Assignments end, hours swing, a worker sits idle for three weeks and then bills 55 hours the next. By the time a measurement period would confirm eligibility, the placement is over. So the benefit line on your offer letter is either blank or points at something the worker cannot actually use.

Meanwhile the practical problem is immediate and small: a worker wakes up sick at 5am on the first day of an assignment. If their only option is a clinic that opens at 8, you get a call-out, the client gets an unfilled shift, and your fill-rate takes the hit.

Starts on day one of the assignment

No waiting period tied to averaged hours. A worker added to the roster can be seen the same day, by phone or video, before their first shift starts.

Follows the worker, not the placement

The membership stays active while the worker is on your roster, across client sites and between assignments — so it is worth mentioning in a recruiting conversation.

Covers the household, not just the worker

On the couple/family plans the worker's spouse and children get the same 24/7 access. A sick child at midnight is a more common call-out cause than the worker's own illness.

Structures agencies actually use

There is no single right funding model, and we will tell you which one fits your margin structure rather than pushing the largest one.

  1. Agency-paid for the active roster

You fund a base membership for every worker on assignment. Strongest recruiting message, cleanest to administer, and the cost is a known per-member number rather than a claims-driven variable.

  2. Voluntary via payroll deduction

Workers opt in and the cost comes out of pay. Zero agency cost, and it still gives your recruiters something concrete to say when a candidate asks what benefits exist.

  3. Split or tiered

You fund the individual membership and the worker upgrades to a household plan at their own cost. Common where crews have families and the agency wants a fixed ceiling.

  4. Client-funded on a specific contract

Where an end client wants better shift reliability, the benefit can be priced into that contract for the workers assigned to it.

Onboarding a roster that changes every week

Adds and removes are handled on a roster basis rather than one enrollment form at a time, so a recruiter is not chasing paperwork for a worker who starts tomorrow. Billing reflects the membership count for the period, which keeps the cost proportional to how many people you actually have working.

We will be direct about what this is not: it is not a group health plan, it does not satisfy an applicable-large-employer coverage obligation, and it does not replace workers' compensation for on-the-job injury. It is healthcare access for illness, ongoing conditions and everyday medical questions.

Good fit if your agency

  • Places hourly, per-diem, travel or contract workers with variable schedules
  • Loses shifts to same-day illness and cannot reach a clinic in time
  • Wants a benefit line that recruiters can describe in one sentence
  • Has workers who currently have no realistic healthcare access at all
  • Needs a cost that scales with headcount instead of a fixed annual contract

Not the right fit if you need

  • An ACA-compliant group health plan or minimum essential coverage
  • Coverage for hospital, surgical, emergency or specialty costs
  • Workers' compensation or occupational injury care
  • In-person clinics nationwide — local Presence visits are available only at the North Richland Hills practice

Outside DFW, workers use the 24/7 virtual side of the membership. We will say plainly when a location cannot be served well.

Get a per-member price for your roster

Tell us your active headcount, how many workers have families, and whether you want agency-paid, voluntary or split funding. You will get a per-member monthly number, not a discovery call sequence.

Questions people ask

Can we offer this to workers who are 1099 rather than W-2?

Yes. Because it is a membership rather than a group health plan, it can be offered to contract workers as well — many agencies make it voluntary for 1099 placements and agency-paid for W-2 staff.

What happens when a worker comes off assignment?

You can remove them at the next billing period, or let them continue the membership at their own cost so their care is not interrupted between placements.

Does this satisfy ACA employer requirements?

No. Presence is a healthcare membership, not health insurance, and it is not minimum essential coverage. Applicable large employers should treat it as an additional access benefit, not a substitute for a compliant plan.

How fast can a new worker be seen?

Virtual visits are available 24/7/365, including nights and weekends, once the worker is on the roster.
