Split the problem in two
Family healthcare spending has two very different shapes. Routine care — sick visits, ear and throat complaints, rashes, refills, follow-ups, results — happens often and costs a modest amount each time. Catastrophic care happens rarely and can cost more than a car. Trying to solve both with one product is what makes family healthcare feel impossible.
A workable structure for most households
- Cover the routine part with a predictable monthly membership you will actually use.
- Cover the catastrophic part with insurance appropriate to your household.
- Ask for the price of labs and imaging before they are ordered, every time.
- Keep one provider relationship so problems are handled early rather than in an emergency department.
What household virtual membership does
Virtual Family Care is $19.99 a month for everyone in the household: unlimited virtual visits, pediatric virtual care included, and no copay for membership-covered care. Local in-office visits at our North Richland Hills practice are $129 each for members on that plan.
Virtual + Local In-Office Care is $29.99 a month for the household and includes two local in-office visits per membership year, with additional local visits at $99 each. If your family expects to be seen in person more than once a year, that is usually the plan that fits. Both are set out on membership pricing, and family virtual health explains how household care works day to day.
Where the savings actually come from
- Visits you would have skipped happen early, when they are simpler to manage.
- Fewer trips to urgent care for problems a virtual visit could have handled.
- Routine cost becomes one predictable line in the household budget.
- Labs and imaging are quoted before they are ordered, so nothing arrives as a surprise — see labs and imaging savings.
We do not publish claimed savings against other practices' prices, because we cannot verify them. The numbers we publish are our own.
Being straight about the boundaries
A Presence membership is not insurance. It does not cover hospital admission, surgery, specialist care, imaging beyond what you choose to pay for, or an emergency department visit. In-office care is for ages 13 and older; a child of 12 or under is cared for virtually through the household membership, and we do not sell one-time pediatric visits.
